Liberty is a 1973 Pearson P35 Centerboard Sloop (hull #250), designed by Bill Shaw for Pearson Yachts in Portsmouth, RI. Built as a racer/cruiser, Liberty was successfully campaigned in the Newport to Bermuda Race for many years. In the late 80s she was converted to world cruiser, by the edition of a new in mast roller furling/roller reefing system. She now has full roller furling/reefing on both Main and Head sails. All sail handling is now done safely without having to leave the cockpit. In the 4 years we have owned Liberty, she has been constantly upgraded. She has been professionally rewired, including the mast, with full schematics. 12 bronze opening ports w/screens for cross ventilation for cruising to the Tropics were added in 2006. She also has a full set of cockpit cushions and interior cushions, which are in good condition with no tears. Fresh bottom paint was applied in April 2010.
The bottom line is, Liberty is a well-equipped cruising boat in excellent condition. I have over $55,000 invested in her and now my health will not allow me to go cruising.
